Woke up at 8:00, boarded a train to Boston at 8:50. Met up with Ms. Greer Rooney at noon. Walked through the commons, sat in the gardens and talked/relaxed, went for a trim delicious caper and air dried beef filled salad at a smart little pizza joint and talked while there were some very enthusiastic eastern european hipsters talking over frappuchinos and ciggarettes. Went for ice cream. Went for music. Decided to go for fish, penguins, seals, more fish, some turtles, an electric eel and various sea jellies at the Aquarium too. (No otters though, but I guess that's a zoo.) Had an absolutely marvelous time, Greer was beautiful and really quite splendid. Parted ways with her at about 7:00pm, gave her a kiss before hopping on the Green Line to North Station. Walked around the city, did a stint on Freedom Trail. Took some more photos. Did that thing where I walk blindly till I get to the Paramount theatre or the "Theatre District" and end up near Emerson. Scoped out the Grand Masonic Lodge, which is right next to the Emerson Buildings. Went scouting for my favorite Sim City 3000 landmark building, the Old North Church. Found it at about 8:45pm. Hung out in North Station, Jae Rodriguez was unable to make an appearance, so I sat out on Platform 9 by myself and sang Bob Dylan songs until my train came in at 10:40pm. Slept like a villain on the train. Ran into the wonderful Amy Demas on the train as well.
Hey, hey Woody Guthrie, I wrote you a song
'Bout a funny ol' world that's a-comin' along.
Seems sick an' it's hungry, it's tired an' it's torn,
It looks like it's a-dyin' an' it's hardly been born.
Baby let me follow you down,
Baby let me follow you down.
Well I'll do anything in this godalmighty world
If you just let me follow you down.
This came up in my sleep when I was napping from Durham to Dover, original Ian Carlsen, songlet in the tune of "Song to Woody" by Bob Dylan with some improvisations:
Said you hear that train whistle from Durham to Dover?
Me passing you by an' a-calling you over?
Tired and broke-down, an' I can't get no sleep.
What with the way that you love me, and the secrets you keep.
I just found a new picture of an otter on my wall above the light switch. Gave me a little tear. My roomate Michaela is at Falcon Ridge and I take it it was a little gift of sorts. It seems like it'll pretty much be me at the house for a week. Maybe I'll take advantage of this time.
